Although we do not carry open stock of beading supplies or rubberstamping supplies, we are available to schedule small (1 – 4 people) A-La-Carte classes preferably starting in the mornings on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays before we open for business. Please contact us if you are interested.
We prepare our class and events by request. If there is something you would like to learn, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request, either in the form of one of our previous sessions or through other arrangements. Crafting A-La-Carte is available Tuesdays and Thursdays during the day (mornings 9-11 & afternoons 1-3, we are flexible about those times). The time is available for class but nothing is scheduled until someone reserves the time. The first person to reserve the time chooses what the class will be. We need a minimum of 24 hours notice so we can prepare (some classes require 48 hours to prepare materials). Most classes are available (dependent upon materials availability).
One time of the year that it is difficult to schedule specific Saturday classes is football season. Pendleton is in such close proximity to Clemson that our traffic flow is greatly affected at certain times of the day on home game Saturdays. And our students, who many of which are also fans, are not always able to attend. We therefore schedule a variety of A-La-Carte and Open Studio times instead for those who wish to work around football.
Spring Die Cut Card Class, 2 hours, $20.00, Terri Earl Brooks
Terri has created some beautiful Spring die cut cards. All materials are included in the cost of the class, and all dies will be pre-cut to ensure ample time to finish the cards in class. (If requested, a demo of how to cut the dies will be done.)
Clay Angel Workshop $25 3 hours Cindy Earl Higgins
Cindy has had a few requests for a workshop on making hand-built ceramic clay angels. This workshop will be concentrating on the construction of the angels. More than one design will be covered.
After they have dried thoroughly and been fired once in the kiln, students can set up time to come in and glaze the angels for a second firing. All materials and the glazing session are included in the cost of the class.

We have days set aside as a la carte days. There is not a class scheduled until someone reserves the time, then they get to pick the topic. We will run a class for as few as 1 person and as many as 6 normally. If you have a larger group we can hold up to 15. If you don’t see a class that you want please ask…we have a number of talented teachers who can do just about anything……

This groups meets once a month, with a variety of topics on the agenda. It is a non formal gathering, with a lot of discussion and show and tell. The idea of the group was to explore a variety of techniques in a variety of media as a group. Each month we usually have an exercise for each member to create, contemplate and explore. If you are interested in joining us, call the Mercantile and let us know so that we can ensure there is enough seating for all.
