Higgins
Design Studio
The Mercantile first introduced ebonyware porcelain to our customers
about 15 years ago, “importing” it from the production
studio in Alfred, NY. It was showcased in Pendleton on a larger
scale 10 years ago, when it’s designer - our very own
Cindy Earl Higgins was a vendor at the Historic Pendleton Spring
Jubilee. After a hiatus in production, we are pleased to announce
that the kilns are firing again, and Higgins Design Studio is
now open at The Mercantile. Featuring ebonyware (black porcelain)
that is then embellished with glazes, Cindy’s designs
are comfortable to the hand, and striking to the eye. Currently
available are coffee mugs, sake bottles (that also make a nice
small vase), and cups. These are available at The Mercantile,
and soon through TheMercantileStore.com online store. |
