Happy's Catch of the Month
This has been a year of celebrating many firsts, tomorrow being Mother's Day.   Last Friday I celebrated our first Relay For Life event with out Mom. Little did I realize that I was about to embark on a new journey myself.

During the Relay celebration I had the misfortune of a gnat flying up my nose.  I thought I had gotten it out, but the next morning I woke up with what felt like the start of a sinus headache.  The headache didn't seem to go and progressed through the next day as well.  By Monday I was in so much discomfort I called my Dr. and was able to get in that day!  She thought that I was suffering a migraine and tension headache.  She prescribed some meds.  One worked, one didn't.  She also suggested a baseline MRI to see what was going on. The MRI was scheduled for Wednesday.  During the MRI they found a small tumor.  When it was explained to me I thought I was told it was 3mm.  An appointment with a neurosurgeon on Thursday, and when he showed me the MRI, I noticed the mass was bigger, like 3CM!  So many questions. And so many that can only be answered once the surgery is done.  This Monday the 14th of May I will have the tumor removed at about 11am ET.  and he anticipates a 3hr surgery.  I am in the best possible hands.

Life is sometimes unbelievable at how it unfolds. Unlucky for the gnat..Luck for me.

So what can you do?  However you offer positive energy in my direction will be welcome.  For the long term, please stop in and take a class, bring a friend and buy some candles or cards.  We have lovely baby gifts, and coffee and candy.
Keeping this business healthy for when I come back will do wonders for not only me but my family.  For updates, please call the store, or check out our blog.  Cindy will be keeping that as up to date as possible.

I look forward to being back at The Mercantile soon...Terri Earl Brooks
